The weather in Toronto in April can be summed up in one word, rain. But as the saying goes “April showers brings May flowers” and signs of that is already around. Buds are beginning to show on trees and daffodils and tulips are blooming. It was also warm enough for families to get out and enjoy the annual Beaches Easter Parade. It’s a great event for both young and old!

ESL Staff Instructor for GEOS Toronto

Please meet Casey, one of our ESL instructors.
Hi! My name is Casey and I am thrilled to be back teaching at GEOS! I’ve taught English to children and adults for almost 10 years here in Canada, the U.S.A, Korea and Switzerland. I love travelling, but I’m really happy to be back in Toronto because I love all the different festivals, concerts and food from around the world. This spring I am excited to see some baseball games, visit High Park and bike around Toronto Island.

Excursions for International Students at GEOS Toronto ESL
At GEOS Language Academy – Toronto our students are always active. In April students enjoyed a tour of a local brewery called Steam Whistle. As we provide real life experience and interaction in class as well as outside. These pictures are of one of our classes taking a tour of the CBC Museum, a Canadian radio and television legacy. Want to join in an activity that has an impact on society as a whole? Our fantastic students did just that when they signed up to make pink ribbon pins for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It was such a great opportunity that a local Korean agency joined our pick ribbon party.

My name is Stefania.
I studied for 1 month in GEOS school.
I learned a lot of interesting things in this month.
It was a intensive course and my teachers were very competent.
I maked friends with nice people and I discovered new cultures.
I am very sad to finish this experience in GEOS.

It was a windy day in our neighbourhood, but that did not deter our group of enthusiastic volunteer students participating in the Toronto 20 minute makeover. They scoured the streets around our school looking for litter to throw in the garbage. After only a few minutes our street and local park was beautified and everyone was happy with accomplishing a group goal. Great job guys!

May is the month for Mother’s day, so be sure to give your mother something nice and show her how much you appreciate her! May is also the month of the much beloved long week-end known as the May 24.
