Student Testimonial for ESL Course at GEOS Toronto

Hey, guys! My name is Hyeonsu Kim but I know that my name is too difficult to pronounce. So my friends call me Su! and I'm from South Korea. I came here 19th May, 2011. So I have been here about 3 months and until now I'm studying here. The reason why I came here is because I wanted to improve my English skill. Of course, for me, it wasn't easy to come here. Because in here, I have to live alone and I have to do everything by myself. And I don't know you guys may know it or not, Korea is very far from Canada. I took an airplane about 20 hours and airplane ticket is expensive so I can go back home only forever! Hahaha. But I had to come because in my country, if I want to enter the company, English skill is one of the most important things. And I left about 1 year in my university so before I will graduate, I want to experience a lot of things. So I got an working-holiday visa - if you get this type of visa, you can work here legally - and came here. At first, when I came here I felt lonely very much. I felt homesick, and always missed my country. But after my class started, here in GEOS, everyone even manager was very kindly and they treated me like their family. Even though, GEOS scale is not large but because of that scales, there are a lot of advantages. Every Friday, we gather in the same place and celebrate our friend's graduation all together. Every students knows each other and says hello in the morning. For example, one of my friends is studying very big ESL school. But because of that scales, every students groups together by their nationality. So they have no chance to talk with friends who come from other country. And I'm 100% sure that GEOS is the most kindly school in Canada.

September 18th: Terry Fox Run - Terry Fox was a Canadian humanitarian and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated, he began his Marathon of Hope, a cross-country run across Canada, in an effort to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Though the spread of cancer to his lungs forced him to end his run after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (he had run from Newfoundland to Ontario), his efforts resulted in a worldwide legacy. Every year, the Terry Fox Run is held in September to help raise money for cancer research.
